Jason Aldean’s Wife Brittany Can’t Wait for Turning Point Halftime Show to Compete With Bad Bunny: ‘Excited’

Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, will seemingly be tuning in to Turning Point’s All-American Halftime Show instead of watching Bad Bunny at Super Bowl LX.

“It’s going to be awesome, excited to watch,” Brittany, 37, replied to singer-songwriter Brantley Gilbert’s Instagram post about the Turning Point show.

Turning Point, which was founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, announced in October 2025 that it would put together its own halftime show to air at the same time as Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) performs at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8. The All-American Halftime Show will feature performances from Gilbert, Kid Rock, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.

Brittany and her husband, Jason, were close friends with late Turning Point founder Kirk and have spoken publicly about their grief over his September 2025 shooting death.

Many conservatives — including President Donald Trump — opposed the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny to perform during the Super Bowl because most of his songs are in the Spanish language. Bad Bunny is an American citizen, as Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States.

Gilbert, 41, defended his involvement with the All-American Halftime Show on Friday, February 6, saying he signed on because a country artist hasn’t headlined the Super Bowl halftime show since Shania Twain performed with Sting and No Doubt in 2003.

“We’re celebrating 250 years as a country, and it’s been more than 20 years since a country artist has been asked to play the Super Bowl halftime show. I respect that some people may see this differently, but I’m not playing this show to be divisive,” Gilbert insisted. “I was offered this opportunity and imagined my kids watching their daddy perform at halftime during the biggest game in American Football. Everything I do, I do for them.”

The week leading up to the dueling halftime shows has been full of heated debate on social media due to Kid Rock’s 2001 song ‘Cool, Daddy Cool’ resurfacing. The track — which was originally released on the soundtrack of the animated movie Osmosis Jones — features lyrics about liking underage girls.

“Now some people say my mind’s blown, I’m coolin’ like a snow cone / On my cell phone, I’m paid, G, can’t call me, just page me / Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage,” the lyrics read. “Some say that’s statutory (But I say it’s mandatory) / My story ain’t that complex, two forties and a Rolex / I rip, I rock, I roll, G, I trim my hair with the Flowbee.”

Kid Rock has not yet directly addressed the backlash over ‘Cool, Daddy Cool,’ but he has commented on going head-to-head with Bad Bunny.

“We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,” he said in a statement on Tuesday, February 3. “We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it? [Bad Bunny] said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress and singing in Spanish? Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.”

The alternative halftime concert has received the full support of Turning Point founder Charlie’s widow Erika Kirk, who took over as the group’s CEO and chairperson following her husband’s death. (Charlie was shot to death at age 31 during a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, in September 2025. Tyler James Robinson was arrested in connection with the shooting but he has yet to enter a plea.)

“[The All-American Halftime Show is] powerful because what Charlie always loved and knew is that he wanted to be in the forefront of the culture war,” Erika told Fox News. “He would be fist-pumping at this. He would be so stoked. And what better way to honor him than to just get in the middle of this and be able to offer an alternative to families.”

She went on, “That’s the thing that is so beautiful about Turning Point USA and our programs — it’s holistic, it’s for the entire home. It’s of every age, and so for us to be able to provide an alternative that is pro-America, that is just pro-everything, that’s not the opposite of what they’re putting out there — I don’t want to go into details and bash that because there is apparently an audience that wants that, but there’s a larger audience that wants ours.”
