Jane Seymour Reveals Why She Will Never Leave California Amid Several Stars’ Hollywood Exits

Jane Seymour is revealing why she says she’ll never move out of California despite numerous stars choosing to leave the Hollywood spotlight in recent years.

“I honestly travel the world, and there is something magical about where we live [in Malibu] and the community we’re in,” Seymour, 75, told Page Six in a Friday, November 6, interview. “And I’ve been here a very long time, and I will always support this community.”

The Middlesex, England-born former Bond Girl lives in a 6,326-square-foot Malibu mansion that she bought for $3.4 million in 1994, per the outlet. The lavish property includes a swimming pool and a garden filled with heat-tolerant plants that can withstand Southern California’s frequent weather shifts.

“Quite a long time ago, I ripped out everything in my garden that was not going to be drought healthy and also that would not ignite,” she explained. “I’ve been really, really careful about all that, and I had the fire department here telling me what I should and shouldn’t do, and I did everything I possibly could do, but it’s also the luck of the draw.”

Having grown very close to her neighbors, the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman actress stressed that her community has a track record of supporting each other through the state’s most extreme and catastrophic weather events — including the December 2024 Franklin Fire, which burned 4,086 acres and destroyed around 20 structures in Malibu’s surrounding area.

“I hope and pray that my house will be here for a very long time,” Seymour recalled. “And I think we’ve personally been through at least half a dozen fires. I’m incredibly grateful to the fire department that ultimately helped us as well. When you live in a place that’s close to nature, you just have to have respect for it.”

Asked directly if she’d ever consider moving out of Los Angeles, Seymour emphatically answered, “No. It’s the most beautiful place and the community here is wonderful.”

Seymour is surrounded by a growing extended family after confirming to Us in June that she is engaged to musician and emergency room doctor John Zambetti.

“Someone decided they wanted to be with me for the rest of their lives. My singer-songwriter,” the star told Us while walking the red carpet at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

At the time, Seymour shared her “excitement” to blend her and Zambetti’s two families due to their shared love of music. (Seymour is a mom of six — she welcomed daughters Jenni Flynn, 46, and Katherine Flynn, 44, and son Sean Flynn, 41, with third husband David Flynn as well as sharing stepson Kalen Keach, 49, and twins Kristopher Steven and Johnny Stacy, 30, with ex James Keach. Her fiancé, John, 78, has two children — The Palmers frontman Johnny Zambetti and daughter Kathryn Zambetti — from his first marriage.)

“We’ve been together three years now,” she beamed while chatting with Us in June. “And there’s nothing but music in my house. He’s a singer-songwriter. His son [Johnny Zambetti] is a singer-songwriter. My son [Johnny Keach] is a singer-songwriter.”

That same month, Seymour shared with Us that “every day I am happier than the day before” since her engagement, partially because she has become a “muse” for John’s songwriting.

“He’s done all this amazing music. He’s got four albums out since we’ve been together. I can’t stop him,” Seymour revealed. “Literally every day he says, ‘Listen to this,’ and [in] the middle of the night, he’ll have an idea, and he said, ‘Don’t talk, I’m asleep.’ And then you go, and he’ll get the guitar out, and he’ll just start writing something.”

John’s six-decade music career dates back to forming that 1960s surf rock band The Malibooz. He frequently collaborates with “Magnet and Steel” singer Walter Egan and has even fronted his own Johnny Z Band.
