Inside ‘Below Deck Med’ Stars Joe Bradley, Nathan Gallagher’s Feud Before Domestic Violence Arrest

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 5, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher were once friends, but their bond was fractured months before the bosun’s arrest for domestic violence.

Joe and Nathan initially connected after joining Below Deck Med in season 9. They fell out, however, following Joe’s tumultuous love triangle in season 10, which forced Nathan to cut ties.

Season 11 of the Bravo series captured several moments when Nathan was frustrated with Joe. Despite their tension playing out on screen, Joe was grateful viewers saw his experience with Nathan.

“Watching it back and seeing Nathan — who he truly is — is rather refreshing to me,” Joe exclusively told Us in July 2026. “I know who Nathan is, I know what he’s like, how he can react and for him to get his two minutes of how he actually is is refreshing to me.”

Joe pointed to the instances when Nathan went off on him in public, adding, “The fact that he can just switch is so alarming to me because I’ve seen it before. … This is who he is.”

One month later, news broke that Nathan was arrested on domestic violence charges in Australia in December 2025 for an alleged incident with an unidentified 29-year-old woman. According to a police report viewed by Us, Nathan was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing] a person without consent and common assault.”

Nathan was eventually granted conditional bail, but he was convicted on three counts of domestic violence after he failed to appear in court.

“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t. I made mistakes, and I will take responsibility for my own actions,” Nathan told Rolling Stone in an August 2026 statement. “I will not accept being portrayed solely through one account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it. I have contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records, which I believe provide important context.”

Us confirmed Nathan is also the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application that was filed on his ex Gael Cameron’s behalf in New South Wales.

Bravo ultimately fired Nathan in light of his domestic violence arrest. Joe publicly showed support for Gael in the aftermath.

Keep scrolling to relive Joe and Nathan’s friendship before their falling out:

Season 9

Joe and Nathan grew close after working together on deck during their first season on the hit Bravo series.

Season 10

After maintaining a bond off screen, both Joe and Nathan returned for season 10. Their friendship began to fall apart as Nathan tried to rekindle his romance with Gael. They ended the season at odds after Nathan called Joe’s behavior into question.

Season 11

Nathan and Joe didn’t remain on good terms after season 11. When Nathan returned as bosun, he wasn’t thrilled that Joe was part of his team. Tension continued to grow before the season came to an end.

Months after filming ended, Nathan’s arrest made headlines. Joe showed his support for Nathan’s ex amid the legal saga.
