Indiana Woman Boarded School Bus to Tell Child She Would ‘Beat’ Him for Bullying Her Stepson

News RoomBy News RoomJune 4, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

An Indiana woman has admitted to boarding a school bus and telling a child that she would “beat” him up after he allegedly bullied her stepson.

Raven Barner pleaded guilty to two counts of battery on a person under the age of 14 in connection with an incident that took place in October 2025.

Barner, 26, was previously accused of boarding a school bus on October 31, 2025, at a bus stop and yelling at children on the bus, according to Law & Crime. She boarded the bus near the apartment complex she lives at with her partner, Donquarious Ridley, in Greenwood, Indiana, and his young son.

Barner and Ridley, 27, believed his elementary school aged son was being bullied on the bus, which allegedly led her to threaten the students.

Police were called to an apartment complex on the morning of the incident after Ridley and Barner were seen getting on the school bus and “yelling at kids,” according to a probable cause affidavit viewed by the outlet.

Camera footage taken inside the bus captured the entire incident, in which Barner and Ridley got on the bus after the son was picked up. The bus driver did not give the couple permission to board the bus, according to the affidavit.

Barner got into a verbal altercation with two children, telling one of them that she would “beat his ass” and that she would also get her stepson to “beat his ass.” The video also reportedly saw Barner “encouraging” her stepson to “start an altercation.”

The bus driver later got between Barner and one of the children, though she managed to strike the child and a second one “inadvertently.”

Also during the incident, Ridley was seen directing his son to repeatedly hit one of the children on the bus, according to WTHR. The child followed his father’s instructions.

Ridley was also seen throwing a child on the ground and encouraging his son to hit him more.

In addition to pleading guilty to the two battery charges, Barner also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of resisting law enforcement.

On May 21, Barner was sentenced to serve one year in jail, which will be followed by one year of active probation. Additionally, she was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Ridley was also charged with two counts of battery on a person less than 14 years old, as well as one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor following his involvement in the incident.

His case is still pending, and his next court date is scheduled to take place on July 27.
