Talk about a Double-Double of SoCal icons.
Burger giant In-N-Out is teaming up with alt-rock radio staple KROQ to give the station’s famed Wilshire Boulevard performance hub a major glow-up — rebranding it as the In-N-Out Burger Sound Space at KROQ, according to a news release from Audacy.
The revamped venue — long a go-to spot for stripped-down sets and intimate fan experiences — officially debuted Tuesday with an exclusive show from indie rock band Bleachers. Select shows will be complete with an on-site In-N-Out truck handing out complimentary favorites at select events.
“For the last 15 years, The Sound Space at KROQ has been the original destination in LA and Orange County for intimate performances from the biggest bands in the world,” KROQ programming exec Kevin Weatherly said, calling the partnership the “next and best phase” for the venue.
Located in the heart of the Miracle Mile, the space has hosted more than 170 performances since opening in 2011, the release said, with acts like Coldplay, Linkin Park, Green Day and the Foo Fighters all passing through for exclusive concerts, interviews and fan events.
In-N-Out owner Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson said the collaboration felt like a natural fit, pointing to the chain’s deep roots in Southern California culture — and even her own musical ties to the station.
“Both music and KROQ has always been special to me,” she said, noting that the company band — .48 Special — often pulls its set lists from ’90s KROQ-era playlists.
Beyond concerts, the upgraded venue will continue to host live broadcasts, podcast tapings and custom events — while also tying into the company’s Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, which works to combat human trafficking and substance abuse.
The partnership will also extend beyond the Sound Space, with KROQ and In-N-Out set to host the sith annual Rock 2 Freedom Benefit Concert at LA’s Wiltern Theatre in October.
