After a longer-than-expected break in the schedule, F1 is back and back on American soil.

The fifth annual running of the Miami Grand Prix is today, May 2, and due to rainy conditions in the Miami area, the race will start a few hours earlier than anticipated.

The race weekend got started with a sprint race for the second time this season; reigning World Drivers Champion Lando Norris got his first podium of the season by finishing first in the sprint ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Norris will start the race today in P4.

Miami grand prix: what to know

  • When: May 3, 1 p.m. ET
  • Where: Miami International Autodrome (Miami Gardens, Florida)

The Miami Grand Prix is a 57 lap, 191.5 mile race on a course that is 3.3 miles long with 19 turns.

The 2026 Miami Grand Prix is scheduled to begin three hours earlier than expected, at 1 p.m. ET today, May 3.
