The 2026 Premier League season opens this afternoon.
Today’s first match will feature two league champions: last year’s Premier League winners, Arsenal, facing off with the 2026 EFL Championship victors, Coventry City.
By winning the Championship, Coventry City was promoted to the Premier League and will play their first English top-flight match since 2001 today.
