How Jessa Duggar Lost 15 Pounds After Welcoming Baby No. 6: ‘Feels So Good’

News RoomBy News RoomJanuary 8, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Jessa Duggar may have her hands full after welcoming baby No. 6, but she’s not allowing the overwhelm to deter her from reaching her fitness goals.

“I’ve managed to lose about 15 pounds in the last couple months,” the former reality TV star, 33, shared in a Tuesday, January 6, YouTube video, revealing the ins and outs of her postpartum weight loss journey. “I’m only about five pounds out now from my pre-pregnancy weight which always feels really good, it’s so exciting to be close to those goals.”

Jessa welcomed her sixth child, Eddie, with husband Ben Seewald in August 2025 after seven and a half hours of labor. The couple — who married in November 2014 — also share kids Spurgeon, 10, Henry, 8, Ivy, 5, Fern, 4, and George, 2.

The TLC alum said she swings between being “really rigid” when it comes to her nutrition and enjoying a full-blown “cheat day,” noting that eating dairy-free has not only been beneficial for her 5-month-old’s eczema but has also been “super helpful” for her as she works toward her wellness goals.

“With Eddie’s eczema was not really getting better after cutting out the dairy, the doctor was wondering if eggs could be an issue, so I’ve cut out eggs as well,” she said. “Not the most fun thing in the world to have to restrict my diet away from the treats and ice cream and all the things, but it’s also very good for me. It’s probably the healthiest diet I’ve been on. I’m telling myself this is for a season and it’s good.”

In addition to her diet changes, Jessa said that she’s been eating oatmeal for breakfast and keeping up with home workouts. For lunch, she makes a salad with chicken or salmon and makes a similar meal for dinner, revealing she often incorporates quinoa into her dishes.

Jessa said that she’s “never been a workout kind of girl,” so she turned to personal trainer app Trainwell to help keep her accountable.

The mom of six said her husband was “really into” fitness when they first started dating, revealing she exercised the most at that time but it’s been increasingly difficult to maintain.

“Ben’s always been way more consistent,” Jessa added. “He usually works out about two to three days at least.”

She noted that they try to bring along the kids when possible, revealing that YouTube videos were also her go-to for a bit. Jessa, however, said that she found herself getting into a “rut” doing the same routine instead of upping the ante with more challenging sets.

In her new YouTube video, Jessa shared snippets of her current workout regimen, including light weight-lifting, front and side planks, russian twists, as well as breathing exercises and side straddle stretches.

She added, “It’s really not so much about numbers on the scale as much as it is about keeping up with those babies.”

Jessa said that she feels more energized, “stronger” and more “toned” thanks to her workouts and doing portion-control, which has been a win-win.
