High-flying past of alleged ‘spy’ with ‘close relationship’ to Nvidia tycoon Jensen Huang: TV, banking and billions

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 29, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

The alleged Chinese spy who had a “close relationship”with Nvidia boss Jensen Huang has been linked to a résumé boasting jobs at top TV networks and global banks.

Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, cultivated a close relationship with the chip tycoon while passing information to the Chinese Communist Party, US intelligence officials claim, according to a New York Times report.

An online profile lists a remarkable career spanning Chinese television, HSBC bank, CITIC Securities and then a lucrative Shanghai investment fund. Perhaps it’s a little too remarkable.

“I have not heard of her,” an executive at Hunan TV, who asked not to be named, told the Post.

“If someone really worked for Hunan TV as a reporter, you could easily see their names or profiles on the company website.”

The Post could find no reporting profile under Huang Le’s name on Hunan TV’s website, or on that of CCTV, China’s state broadcaster.

Huang Le is, by all accounts, a successful businesswoman and is not officially accused of wrongdoing. She is also not related to the Nvidia boss and although the Times report described them as having a “close relationship” it admitted it could not establish how close.

“Jensen’s interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected,” an Nvidia spokesperson told The Post. “Meetings with customers are part of a CEO’s job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year.”

Huang Le helped run Megaspeed, a little-known Singapore chip firm whose Malaysian sister company bought at least $4.8 billion in Nvidia equipment between June 2024 and February 2026, according to the Times.

Before that her résumé shows offers a glimpse into a startling business career.

On Simuwang, a Chinese private-fund database, a smiling woman in a red dress who matches the person in the pictures with Jensen is identified as “Huang Le, fund manager” and an executive director of Shanghai Hexi Investment Management.

Her profile lists four years in media and eight in securities, with jobs as a reporter for Hunan TV and CCTV, assistant to the president of HSBC’s private-banking division and a vice president in CITIC Securities’ securities business.

Neither HSBC nor CITIC Securities responded to The Post’s requests for comment.

Megaspeed was originally the Singaporean arm of 7Road, a Chinese online game company partly owned by China’s central and local governments. Huang Le’s Shanghai Hexi fund had invested in 7Road, it was reported last year.

Hexi did not respond to interview requests from the Post.

Megaspeed has received multimillion-dollar shipments of Nvidia’s most advanced chips as it is not a Chinese company. However, the firm controversially rents out computing power to Alibaba and other Chinese companies, according to various reports.

It imported about 136,000 Nvidia GPUs through November 2025, though Nvidia’s own inspectors found only a few thousand of its newest chips at its data center, Bloomberg reported, leaving questions about where the rest went.

The Commerce Department probed whether Megaspeed helped smuggle chips into China and handed its results to the Justice Department this year. Singaporean authorities brought Huang Le in for questioning in 2025, but released her without charge.

“China opposes vilifying Chinese citizens by peddling the so-called ‘Chinese spy’ narrative,” Chinese Embassy spokesperson Liu Chang told The Post.

Megaspeed told the Times it had hired outside lawyers to investigate. It did not respond to the Post, and Huang Le could not be reached.

In the meantime, China’s censorship machine has already swung into gear.

China’s top AI chatbot, DeepSeek, refuses to answer questions about Huang Le. Asked by the Post to confirm the Hexi fund manager was the Megaspeed executive, it replied: “Sorry, that’s beyond my current scope. Let’s talk about something else.”

DeepSeek dodged 85% of prompts on sensitive China topics in a test last year, TechCrunch reported.
