It’s the end of an F1 era as the 2026 summer break comes to an end.

Today, Aug. 23, marks the final running of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, as the promoter decided not to continue hosting the event beyond this year’s race.

Ahead of today’s Grand Prix, F1 held another sprint weekend. Mercedes’ George Russell started the sprint in pole position and went on to win; Russell will start today’s race second behind McLaren’s Lando Norris. Russell’s Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the race for the World Drivers Championship, starts third.

  • When: Aug. 23, 9 a.m. ET
  • Where: Circuit Zandvoort (Zandvoort, Netherlands)

The grid will look a little different for this race as Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar injured his wrist and as a result, will not compete this weekend. Red Bull has promoted Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson from the junior team to take Hadjar’s place and reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda will drive for Racing Bulls.
