Halle Berry slams Gavin Newsom, warns she won’t support his presidential ambitions after menopause stand off

Oscar winner Halle Berry gave California Gov. Gavin Newsom some ice cold advice about women’s issues and how to treat voters ahead of an expected run for president.

The former Bond girl said she won’t be supporting the Democrat if he runs because he failed to “reconcile” with her for vetoing a bill that would have ensured insurance coverage for proven menopause treatments.

Berry, 60, said she confronted the well-coiffed governor for axing the Menopause Care Act last year and he promised to follow up with her but never did.

“It’s disturbing when people say they’re going to do things and then don’t,” Berry told The Cut.

“But he heard what I said. If he is going to run to be our next president, he can’t sleep on women,” she warned. “Wake up, Gavin.”

Newsom’s office called Berry’s comments “very unfortunate.”

“Ms. Berry’s remarks are very unfortunate given the governor’s proposal put forward today to support menopause care through the state budget, just as he said he would do in his veto message on AB 432,” a Newsom spokesperson told The Post on Monday.

The proposal would mandate health care plans or insurance policies cover FDA-approved menopause treatments, including hormone-replacement therapy and non-hormonal medication, the spokesperson said. The mandate would affect any new policies or renewed policies after July 1.

Berry had first went off on Newsom in December 2025, blasting him for killing the bill.

Speaking at the New York Times DealBook Summit, Berry accused Newsom of undervaluing women and suggested that, given his record, he shouldn’t be considered for the presidency.

“He’s not going to be governor forever, and the way he has overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us, he probably should not be our next president either. Just saying,” Berry said.

This latest spat came after she called out Newsom, who responded by saying he appreciated Berry’s advocacy and suggested the two were on the path to reconciliation.

But more than a month later, he has yet to follow through or reach out as promised, according to her comments.
