George Kittle picks sides in 49ers’ explosive feud with Brandon Aiyuk

News RoomBy News RoomJuly 24, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

The San Francisco 49ers have endured one of the most challenging team-player standoffs in the history of the NFL.

The social media spiral of star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been an unrelenting thorn in the side of the organization. The 28-year-old refuses to work with the 49ers and has continuously pushed for a reunion with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who played with Aiyuk at Arizona State.

On Thursday, Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle joined Chris Simms’ Unbottoned podcast, and took a candid approach toward the ongoing feud between the franchise and wide receiver.

“I feel like I know basically everything that’s happened and what’s gone on and I can’t share all of that cause it’s not my business to share or tell, but I just want to let you know that I feel like the 49ers have done a very good job throughout the entire process and have tried. Kyle has tried, John has tried, teammates have tried, and this is where we are,” Kittle said.

“I think the organization itself has done a really good job.

“Like I said, I know plenty of things and I don’t ever want to single out a player. I don’t want ever want to point a finger at anybody, but I’ve been here for 10 years and I’ve been treated with nothing but respect and love my entire career.”

Aiyuk has gone as far to say the 49ers lied about the situation and revealed he would not be filing for reinstatement. If that is true, that would give the team the ability to leave Aiyuk on the “Left Squad List,” where he would remain on the team but wouldn’t count against roster space or receive any pay.

Aiyuk’s most recent antics featured the wide receiver purchasing a home in Northern Virginia, where Commanders headquarters is located.

While the 49ers have essentially lost one of their stars, the roster is still loaded with talent. From newcomers like veteran wideout Mike Evans to franchise staples like George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, the 49ers have a chance to be an explosive offense even without Aiyuk in the mix.

Many believe Aiyuk is putting his NFL career in jeopardy as his player status remains in limbo because of his actions. Fans might always be wondering what could have been for Aiyuk in San Francisco, but it’s clear that chapter is officially closed.
