Former Michigan Coach Sherrone Moore’s Accuser Paige Shiver Says She Was Pregnant With His Baby

News RoomBy News RoomApril 24, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Paige Shiver, who accused former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore of trespassing after their alleged inappropriate workplace relationship, revealed that she was once pregnant with Moore’s baby.

During an interview on the Friday, April 24, broadcast of Good Morning America, Shiver explained that her unborn baby was diagnosed with Pompe disease, a genetic disorder that weakens muscle strength.

“Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby,” Shiver told reporter Linsey Davis.

When Davis asked whether Shiver wanted to “keep” the baby, an emotional Shiver responded, “Yeah.”

Shiver said Moore was aware of the pregnancy and its complications, allegedly telling her she had to “do what’s right for your body.”

News broke in December 2025 that Moore, 40, was fired as the University of Michigan’s head football coach after his arrest for allegedly attacking a then-unidentified woman at her home.

“Earlier this week, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics dismissed head football coach Sherrone Moore with cause for violating University policy by engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member,” Michigan president Domenico Grasso said in a statement. “There is absolutely no tolerance for this conduct at the University of Michigan. None.”

Grasso continued, “I have been in close communication with the Board of Regents and we are united in committing to doing what is right. This breach of trust by Coach Moore is painful for many in our community, first and foremost, the individuals directly involved in this situation. Our swift and decisive action reflects the University’s staunch commitment to a campus culture of respect, integrity and accountability.”

Moore entered a no-contest plea in March for misdemeanor charges of malicious use of a telecommunications device in the context of a domestic relationship and trespassing. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation earlier in April, avoiding jail time.

“Incarceration is usually left to those times where an individual continues to impose a risk to society or others, or an individual, this court believes, can’t in some way conform themselves to how we should operate in society,” the judge said in a court hearing earlier this month. “I don’t believe, when I look at the entirety of this case, that incarceration would be an appropriate sentence.”

Shiver, who publicly came forward with her accusations in March, later issued a statement after Moore’s sentencing.

“The University of Michigan gave this man limitless power and emboldened him to do whatever he wanted for years with no accountability,” she said in an April 14 statement. “December 10th was the most terrifying day of my life. The criminal acts he committed were extremely frightening and violent. He broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged and came at me with knives.”

She added, “I was threatened, and I feared for my life. Today’s sentence does not reflect the harm done to me or the objective evidence in this case.”
