Spain forward Ferran Torres is one of the biggest names in sports right now, after his goal lifted his home country past Argentina in the World Cup Final on Sunday.
This iconic goal came as Torres is reportedly dealing with some drama in his personal life.
On July 9, prominent Spanish TV journalist Javi de Hoyos made an Instagram post claiming that Torres and his now ex-girlfriend, Martina Hunter Alguero, decided to go their separate ways before Spain’s World Cup quarterfinal win against Belgium.
“I have spoken with people close to both of them, and they confirm that the romance is over, at least for now. Ferran is currently enjoying being single at the World Cup,” de Hoyos was quoted as saying.
The local reporter also noted that while Torres and Alguero weren’t an official couple, they had been seen partying in Ibiza, Spain, together recently.
de Hoyos is also initially broke the news of the two of them seeing each other.
Alguero just finished a trip in Bali, as shown by her recent Instagram activity. Therefore, it doesn’t seem that she was eager to celebrate Torres and Spain’s World Cup win in their home country.
Torres’ winner in the 106th minute is undoubtedly the biggest goal he’ll ever score. And the 26-year-old Torres will return home a national hero — and now one of the country’s most desirable bachelors.
