Farah Fawcett’s Son Redmond O’Neal Reveals Devil Horn Face Tattoos During Rare Court Appearance

News RoomBy News RoomMarch 12, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Redmond O’Neal, the only son of Hollywood legends Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, debuted devil horn face tattoos in his first public court appearance in nearly a decade.

O’Neal, 41, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, March 10, eight years after he was first charged with attempted murder following an alleged crime spree in May 2018.

In pictures obtained by the Daily Mail on Wednesday, March 11, O’Neal appeared handcuffed in court with devil horn tattoos visible on his forehead, one on either side of his face. He also sported a tattoo that reads “F*** life” on his left hand, per the outlet.

Also visible was a tattoo on his left cheek that reads “5250,” which he was previously seen sporting in a May 2018 mugshot. 5250 is the California penal code that authorizes an involuntary psychiatric hold for up to 14 days for people considered a danger to themselves or others.

O’Neal was arrested for the alleged armed robbery of a convenience store in May 2018 and held without bail, per CNN. The following month, he was formally charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of criminal threats, one count of brandishing a knife and one count of battery, reported ABC News in June 2018.

O’Neal was accused of committing a multi-day crime spree from May 2 to 5, 2018, in which five men were assaulted. One of the men was stabbed in the head, per ABC.

“They all seem to be random. It appears, though, based on what we know now, that it just started as an argument between unknown persons and quickly escalated with the violent acts,” LAPD Sgt. Scotty Steven told the outlet at the time.

In 2019, O’Neal was reportedly deemed incompetent to stand trial in connection with the charges. The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that he was ruled competent to face the charges last year, hence his court appearance this week.

According to the Mail, O’Neal has been incarcerated at a psychiatric facility, Patton State Hospital, in San Bernardino, California, for the past three and a half years.

“He found God in Patton State Hospital. The medication is working beautifully and he’s going to his life skills classes every day,” O’Neal’s godmother, Fawcett’s former hairstylist and close friend Mela Murphy, told the outlet. “When I ask him, ‘Are you opening up and helping others there at Patton?’ he always says, ‘Absolutely.’ He still has hope that he will get out.”

Fawcett died of anal cancer at age 62 in June 2009. O’Neal’s father, Ryan O’Neal, died of congestive heart failure in December 2023. He was 82.

Following his arrest in May 2018, O’Neal blamed his parents for his struggles in life, including his drug addiction.

“It’s not the drugs that have been a problem, it’s the psychological trauma of my entire life — my whole life experiences have affected me the most,” he told RadarOnline. “Fighting with my father, being kicked out and living on the streets, going to jail, being put in a psychiatric ward, being embarrassed all the time, just because of who my parents are. The pressure that came with that set off a time bomb in my head. I never asked for any of this, I never wanted any attention.”
