Exclusive | New map shows where ‘scumbag’ men are coercing, tricking pregnant women into taking abortion pills

WASHINGTON — A pro-life group is rolling out a new database tracking instances where “scumbags” are tricking or coercing unwilling pregnant women into consuming abortion pills.

The new database shows that there’s been an uptick in instances of deranged men slipping abortion pills to unwitting pregnant women over recent years, according to Shawn Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life, a pro-life group that compiled the record.

“We just saw this trend since the unbelievable deregulation of abortion pills,” Carney told The Post. “We’ve had men sprinkling abortion pills over blueberry pancakes. We’ve seen them put them in smoothies.”

“There just seems to be this shield around these horrible scumbags, as we call them, that this is just sort of a side effect of having access to abortion.”

Back in 2021, the Biden administration loosened the restrictions on Mifepristone, part of a two-drug regimen to cause an abortion, so that women could more easily obtain it via telehealth and the mail.

After the Supreme Court overturned precedents first set in Roe v. Wade, guaranteeing a national right to abortion, blue states such as New York scrambled to expand access to the controversial procedure, including by enacting “shield laws” that made it easier to mail pills to states with tight restrictions.

“Nobody ever advocated for this huge deregulation of abortion pills because you don’t know whose hands they will get into, and you don’t know how they would be used,” Carney contended.

“Now we’re seeing how they’re used. And it is the ultimate abuse of women.”

Medical abortions are by far the most popular way to receive the procedure, accounting for about two-thirds of them nationwide, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-choice organization.

Notably, Mifepristone, which has been available in the US since 2000, also has other uses, such as treating Cushing’s syndrome and managing miscarriages.

40 Days for Life presents its database as a map, which includes the US states and international countries where

Sometimes, the “scumbags” have given their pregnant female victims severe medical complications by deceiving them into consuming the pills, according to reports.

In one instance, a woman reportedly lost her ability to have children after a British man put one dose in her drink, and a second when she was blindfolded during “kinky sex.” Some of the women described having trauma from the despicable acts.

The “scumbags” find various creative ways of getting ahold of the abortion pills. For example, an Afghani minicab driver acquired Mifepristone online and then tied up his pregnant mistress and forced her to take it.

“Under the guise of COVID-19, the Biden Administration stripped away FDA safeguards to allow mail-order abortion drugs with little to no medical oversight through the mail,” Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Communications Director Kelsey Pritchard told The Post.

“Doing so, they created today’s nationwide public health crisis,” she added. “Women are being left alone to manage their own abortions which has resulted in hemorrhaging and life-threatening complications. And we’re seeing abusers exploit the system.”

Pritchard cited recent polling from the conservative McLaughlin & Associates, finding that 7 in 10 Americans want in-person doctor visits to be required for access to Mifepristone.

A Planned Parenthood Action Fund spokesperson similarly acknowledged that women being coerced into taking abortion pills is heinous, but countered that denying women access to abortion is as well.

“No one should be coerced or denied the ability to make choices about their own bodies,” the spokesperson told The Post.

“What we find disingenuous is the supposed concern about coercion from people who have supported abortion bans that are now in place across 20 states where people are forced to stay pregnant against their will.”

Lawmakers on the GOP-led Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) held a hearing this week evaluating complications from the availability of the abortion pill.
