Players always say they need to clean up whatever mistakes they made in one game before they hit the field for the next game. Dru Phillips is in that mode this week.
The third-year cornerback was called for three pass interference penalties in the season-opening 28-20 victory over the Cowboys. That means there is plenty to work on heading into Monday night’s game against the Rams at SoFi Stadium.
With the Giants leading 7-0 in the first quarter, Phillips ran down the field with tight end Jake Ferguson, the two jostling for position. Dak Prescott threw it up, a flag was thrown, and the Cowboys had 19 free yards and tied the game three plays later.
“The first one I was getting beat up the whole route, I can’t even tell you what happened half the time,’’ Phillips told The Post after Wednesday’s practice.
