Eric Trump announced plans to sue MS Now and host Jen Psaki Friday for accusing him of being a board member of a company purportedly seeking to do business in China.
The former White House press secretary and host of “The Briefing with Jen Psaki” made the statement during a recent show monologue in which she suggested President Trump’s second-born son joined his father on his high-profile China trip to further his own business interests.
“Contrary to her monolog[ue] and blatant lies, I have NEVER been on the board of ALT5 — not now, not ever,” Eric Trump wrote on X. “Any person with basic access to Google and willing to open a company’s annual report or proxy statements would know this.”
He continued: “I have had zero involvement in any merger discussions involving any public entity I do not run or control. I have zero business interests in China. No properties, no investments, nothing!”
“I joined this trip for one reason: as a loving son who adores my father and wouldn’t miss being by his side for this incredible moment.”
During the Wednesday segment, Psaki noted Eric Trump’s spokesperson had said he was joining his father in a personal capacity and that he would not be involved in meetings and doesn’t have any business associations in China.
But then Psaki declared, “Eric is on the board of a company called Alt5 Sigma,” and she cited a Financial Times report alleging the company “has a memorandum of understanding to explore a potential deal with a Chinese computer chip manufacturer to build AI data centers and a whole bunch of other AI related stuff.”
The Financial Times report, and SEC filings reviewed by The Post, however, note Eric Trump is a board “observer” – not a board member.
Psaki’s insinuation was that Eric Trump joining his father on the historic trip to Beijing amounted to a conflict of interest.
MS NOW did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Eric Trump noted that as the president and administration official met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and his delegation, he and his wife, Lara Trump, “went to the Great Wall of China.”
