The smoothies are coming!
Ritzy California grocer Erewhon is set to open its first ever location outside of LA county, bringing $20 smoothies and cups of “sacred water” to Ventura County.
Erewhon will officially open at Lakes Mall in Thousand Oaks on August 26, becoming the chain’s northernmost location.
The trendy grocer now has 14 total locations across SoCal, in addition to a
“tonic bar” selling smoothies at New York City’s members-only club Kith Ivy.
A grand opening event to launch the store will take place from 9am to 9pm on August 26. On opening day, Erewhon members can pick up complimentary bags and flowers, as well as store-specific merchandise including hats and candles.
The store is also offering exclusive menu items, including a steak sandwich on a toasted baguette, and the “Amidst the Oaks smoothie”, containing pineapple, coconut water,, raw ginger, basil, spirulina and mint.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the smoothie will be donated to Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, a local free food pantry that services individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
The grocer has been steadily expanding its LA footprint in recent years, opening new locations in LACMA and West Hollywood earlier this year.
Next month, the influencer hotspot will expand to Orange County with a location in Costa Mesa. The chain will head Downtown in June of 2027. Its Pacific Palisades location, which was closed since the 2025 Palisades fire, reopened at Rick Caruso’s Palisades Village earlier this month.
The brand is beloved by health nuts and influencers for its signature celeb-branded smoothies, which cost upwards of $20 a pop.
Hundreds of fans descended upon the grand opening of Erewhon West Hollywood in February, with some devotees arriving as early as 6.a.m to grab $150 limited edition tote bags and hoodies.
“I’m a New Yorker, but one of the biggest perks of living in LA is Erewhon,” Erewhon fan Zarna Mahen Joshi told the Post at the opening.
“If they’re going to do a grand opening, I’m going to be here.”
The brand also offers several pricey memberships. Its $200 annual membership comes with a free monthly smoothie and exclusive discounts from partners including Lululemon and Cadillac of Beverly Hills.
Shoppers who spend more than $5,000 a year are granted access into the grocer’s “Premier” membership tier, while those who spend more than $15,000 a year join the “Reserve” tier. These rarified tiers offer free delivery, priority checkout, and the privilege to skip the line at the smoothie counter.
