El-Sayed insists Israel is not US ally: ‘It’s time for us to realize that’

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 21, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — Lefty Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on Monday claimed Israel should not be considered a US ally, saying it’s time to realize the Jewish state “is not our friend.”

“An ally that takes your money to push you into wars you shouldn’t be fighting is not an ally,” the radical Democrat told ABC News’ Linsey Davis.

“If your kid has a friend who keeps bumming off their money and then talks about them behind their back and then gets them into fights with other friends, what would you tell your kid to do with that friend? You probably tell them maybe it’s not actually a friend,” El-Sayed said during the interview.

“I think it’s time for us to realize that Israel is not our friend.”

The hopeful, during his first debate last week with Republican foe Mike Rogers, sidestepped a question about whether Israel or Iran was a bigger threat to the US.

He later dismissed the question as “ridiculous” while contending both countries “have proven dangerous in their own way.”

Earlier this week, El-Sayed also indicated that his gripes with Israel go far beyond its conservative prime minister, Ben jamin Netanyahu, who is facing a critical election Oct. 27.

“Allies are supposed to care about you implicitly, not just use you,” the Dem told MS NOW. “The government of Israel has done nothing but use us.

“Netanyahu is one part of it, but the Israeli military has done heinous things. Like heinous things. Full war crimes. Genocide.

“Let’s see who the next prime minister is, but I’m not hearing any commitment to Palestinian self-determination from anybody running,” El-Sayed. “Right now, structurally, there are a lot of issues with that ostensible allyship.”

Half a world away in Israel, Netanyahu has increasingly recognized the daylight between his country and the political left in America.

When asked about what he would do if the next president soured on Israel, Netanyahu indicated that part of his strategy would be to court alternative alliances.

“First of all, we must do everything in our power during these two years, and in the two years that follow, to engage with the American arena through good times and bad,” he stressed, according to an Israeli reporter.

“The second thing is to forge other alliances. That is what I am working on now with many countries in our region, as well as countries outside our region. India is no small country, and there are many other countries as well. There is a major shift taking place in Latin America.”
