In a stadium that seats more than 65,000 people, it takes some real bad luck to get caught on the jumbotron with someone other than your wife. But that seems to be exactly what happened to Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who attended Coldplay’s performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, July 16.
Mid-show, the band’s frontman, Chris Martin, decided to introduce the Kiss Cam, a staple of sporting events at stadiums like Gillette, home of the New England Patriots. As the camera panned over the crowd, it settled on Byron, 50, with his arms wrapped around his company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot.
Byron is married — to a woman Newsweek identified as Megan Kerrigan Byron, not Cabot.
When the camera landed on them, Andy quickly dropped to the ground out of sight, while Cabot turned and shielded her face from the jumbotron.
“Oh what either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” Martin, 48, commented as the crowd responded with laughter.
Us Weekly has reached out to Astronomer and both executives for comment.
As the video went viral, internet sleuths tracked down Megan’s Facebook page, inundating it with comments. The page has since been deactivated.
Astronomer touts itself as “the company behind Astro, the industry-leading data orchestration and observability platform powered by Apache Airflow. Astro accelerates building reliable data products that unlock insights, unleash AI value, and power data-driven applications,” according to its website.
Andy took over at Astronomer in July 2023, according to his LinkedIn page. He previously served as president of tech company Lacework from 2019 to 2022. Cabot joined Astronomer in 2024, coming from graph database management company Neo4j.
“At Astronomer, our people are the most valuable asset in helping our customers do more to gain a competitive advantage with their data,” Andy said in a press release announcing Cabot’s hiring. “Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory. She is a proven leader at multiple growth-stage companies and her passion for fostering diverse, collaborative workplaces makes her a perfect fit for Astronomer.”
“There are plenty of companies out there where a leadership team doesn’t recognize the value that a strong people leader and people team can bring to a company,” Cabot said in the same release. “It’s not just about benefits or catered lunches. There’s so much more to it, and I was energized in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”
