The NBA is arguably the toughest league to handicap, as it requires such a wide range of knowledge and attention to detail.
I believe we have a unique situation Wednesday when the Los Angeles Clippers host the Toronto Raptors as 3.5-point favorites with a total of 224.5 points.
The Clips recently adjusted their rotation, moving stud defender Kris Dunn out of the starting lineup in favor of a better shooter.
That has opened the offense and increased their scoring.
Over the past three games, the Clippers rank fourth in the NBA in offensive efficiency.
All-Star Kawhi Leonard is the reason they are on a 30-15 stretch and making noise in the Western Conference playoff picture.
A large reason for Leonard’s dominance is the Clippers having surrounded him with shooters who can space the floor.
The Raptors rank eighth in defensive efficiency and play one of the slower paces.
Those are the main reasons Toronto has only gone over its total in 28 of 71 games this season.
However, the Clippers have a lot of shooters in Leonard, Darius Garland, Brooke Lopez, Nicolas Batum and even Derrick Jones Jr., when he is left open.
