Chris Harrison teases dating show return with roses — and a wink at his ‘Bachelor’ past

News RoomBy News RoomSeptember 17, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Chris Harrison is getting back in the dating game — and he’s bringing the roses with him.

The former longtime host of “The Bachelor” is returning to the relationship genre with “Chris Harrison’s The Vow,” a new six-episode dating series that will premiere Nov. 11 on Fox Nation.

A teaser for the show opens with close-ups of a man adjusting his suit until panning out to reveal it’s Harrison, who give a cheeky nod to his old gig.

“Expecting someone else?” he asks, with the spot then flashing the words: “Roses. Faith. True love lasts forever.”

“The Vow,” which will release its first two episodes Nov. 11 before airing weekly on Wednesdays through a Dec. 9 finale, follows 30-year-old bachelor Jace Cates as he dates 10 women looking for marriage and long-term commitment.

The show will lean heavily into faith, family, communication and shared values, according to Fox Nation, while putting contestants through dates and “real-world compatibility challenges.”

“I’m so excited to be back helping people find love,” Harrison said in announcing the series, adding that he believes the producers have created “the most authentic dating show on television today.”

The comeback puts Harrison squarely back in the genre that made him one of reality television’s most recognizable faces — more than five years after his messy split from ABC’s “Bachelor” franchise.

Harrison stepped away from “The Bachelor” in February 2021 following an interview with former bachelorette Rachel Lindsay in which he defended contestant Rachael Kirkconnell as she faced criticism over photos of her attending a 2018 “Old South” antebellum-themed college event.

During the interview, Harrison repeatedly called for “grace,” criticized the “woke police” and questioned whether the photos should be judged differently in 2021 than they were in 2018.

The remarks triggered a firestorm at a particularly sensitive moment for the franchise, which had recently cast Matt James as its first black bachelor and publicly pledged to improve representation.

Harrison apologized and announced days later that he would temporarily step aside, acknowledging in a second statement: “By excusing historical racism, I defended it.”

In June 2021, ABC Entertainment and Warner Horizon announced that Harrison was leaving the franchise permanently. Harrison said at the time that he was “excited to start a new chapter.”

Trade reports later pegged his exit package at millions of dollars, though the exact figure was never publicly confirmed.

ABC eventually installed former bachelor Jesse Palmer as the franchise’s principal host.

Harrison, meanwhile, launched a podcast in 2023 and later announced television projects with Dr. Phil McGraw’s Merit Street Media.

Fox Nation President Lauren Petterson said Harrison “helped shape one of television’s most recognizable genres” and called the new series a “fresh, thoughtful take” focused on genuine connections.

Harrison said the show was inspired in part by what he called a “faith-driven renaissance happening across America.”

“At a time when so many people feel dating has become harder than ever,” he said, “‘The Vow’ asks a simple but important question: Can genuine, lasting love still be found in the modern world?”

Former “Bachelor” couple Sean and Catherine Lowe are also set to appear during the season to offer contestants advice about building a lasting relationship.

The series is produced with Lionsgate Alternative Television, with Harrison and his wife, Lauren Zima, among the executive producers.

Fox Nation is owned by Fox Corp — sister company to The Post’s corporate parent News Corp.
