Two food influencers are going viral after experiencing a terrifying moment that occurred while eating inside a restaurant.
Nina Santiago, known online as NinaUnrated, and Patrick Blackwood were filming at a local Houston, Texas, restaurant while eating salmon sliders when an SUV crashed through the window and into the twosome, according to USA TODAY.
Santiago and Blackwood shared footage from the incident via social media, where they can be seen taking a bite of their sandwich moments before broken glass shatters on them. Blackwood sat closer to the window and was seen pushing Santiago away from the glass.
“Tomorrow Is Not Promised… 🙏🏼 @cuveesculinarycreations,” the joint caption read. “Glass Shatters Everywhere! SUV Crashes Through Window While We Eat Near Death Experience.”
Users were quick to weigh in in the comments section, including restaurant CuVee’s Culinary Creations.
“We appreciate you being apart of the Cuvées family. We’re just grateful you’re safe after such a scary moment,” the establishment wrote. “We’re still here to serve our community delicious food this weekend and can’t wait to see you again.”
In a separate Instagram post, Santiago shared that she’s “beyond grateful to be alive” after the experience. Alongside the message, Santiago uploaded a series of photos showing bloody cuts from the incident.
“It hit us directly me on his left, him on my right as I bit into a delicious salmon slider. Out of nowhere, but we survived,” the caption read. “This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you this could’ve been our last meal. Thankful to the universe and our angel pup Loyal, who passed in Nov 2024 and protected us from above.”
Documents from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office obtained by Chron indicated that the incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, August 16. A motorist allegedly thought she placed her SUV in park, but the car “rolled into the business” instead.
“On Saturday afternoon, an unexpected accident occurred when a car crashed into our restaurant. We are beyond grateful that no one was severely hurt! Especially @ninaunrated and @iampatrickblackwood , who were directly impacted. The outpouring of love, support, and concern from our community has meant so much to us. While this was unexpected, our amazing staff is here and ready to continue serving you the same great food and hospitality you know and love this weekend,” the restaurant wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, August 19. “As a small family-owned business, your support means more to us now than ever. Thank you for standing with us.”
