Bryan Johnson says beer and pizza make him ‘sick’ — what he considers a ‘treat’

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 2, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

The man who wants to live as long as possible has a new-ish lease on life.

Known for outlandish tactics to delay death, Bryan Johnson recently admitted he may have taken things too far.

Even after his recent revelation, though, the biohacker still steers clear of popular junk foods and has a different definition of treating himself.

After being diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease, the 48-year-old made a candid confession on X, wondering “if I’ve taken this whole longevity thing too far.”

But he’s sticking to his guns and his healthy habits, including not indulging in foods that bring joy to many, like beer and pizza.

Instead, Johnson said he treats himself by continuing to do what he’s doing and chasing the feeling it brings him.

“A treat is a reward, right? And my reward is to feel amazing,” Johnson told The Guardian.

The tech mogul went on to say that when he feels energetic, clear-headed and in a stable mood, that “it’s just really a great way to navigate life.”

While many centenarians cite a regular indulgence like a daily whiskey or dessert, Johnson scoffs at the idea, preferring routine over indulgence.

“People find it incomprehensible that I wouldn’t want to eat a doughnut, or a pizza, and have beer,” Johnson said. “Those things just make me sick. I can’t even imagine. It wrecks my sleep.”

Indeed, he sticks to an intermittent fasting diet of no more than 2,250 calories per day, eating between 6 and 11 am.

This window of eating allows him to eat his final meal of the day at least four hours before bedtime, which is an early 8:30 pm for Johnson.

He drinks green juice laced with creatine and collagen peptides — the one exception to his vegan diet — first thing, followed by a few pounds of veggies paired with a tablespoon of dark chocolate.

Protein is sourced from legumes like lentils and chickpeas, as well as pea and hemp protein. Then, he’ll cap off the day with his infamous nutty pudding.

Despite his strict way of living, Johnson claims he’s feeling his best and experiencing joy just by being alive.

“The greatest joy in my day is that I don’t feel depressed,” he said. “Even though I take so much heat in the world, so much hate is pointed in my direction, I feel great, I’m having fun and I enjoy life.”

And although he does host early morning raves or early-bird gatherings where food is served, he claims he’ll “put food on [the] plate and kind of nibble at it,” to soothe social conditions.

For Johnson, bad habits like eating junk food or drinking alcohol are simply a no-go, likening his quest for longevity to a career.

“Rejuvenation is my sport — I’m playing it as an athlete,” he said. “It’s a discipline and profession for me.”
