‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Stars Break Silence on Pregnancy Twist, Tease Steffy and Finn Split (Exclusive)

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 21, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

The Bold and the Beautiful cast broke their silence on Steffy and Finn’s future after she accidentally got pregnant with his best friend’s baby.

Season 40, which airs weekdays on CBS, escalated Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) one night stand with her pregnancy. After trying to come clean to husband Finn (Tanner Novlan) and best friend Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) — who is married to Carter — Steffy is instead convinced to lie.

Carter then created a plan that involved Steffy pretending she wanted to be his and Daphne’s surrogate. With Finn out of town, Steffy claimed she used her own frozen eggs to help implant an embryo, which would explain her being pregnant with Carter’s baby.

“We’re not losing hope just yet,” Novlan, 40, exclusively told Us about Finn and Steffy’s future. “I think Finn is trying to figure out what’s going on with his wife.”

Novlan is expecting viewers to be upset, adding, “The Sinn fans are definitely going to be fired up by this one. But family means everything to Finn — and he’ll do everything he can to keep that together.”

The actor hinted that Finn wouldn’t take what Steffy told him at face value. Hilaire, 37, also reflected on Daphne being kept in the dark about her husband’s betrayal with her best friend.

“I feel like he should have given the benefit of the doubt to Daphne because she left [him last season] for three hours. Also, she’s French,” she quipped, before MacInnes Wood, 39, added, “I think you always want to lead with honesty. … You’re just in an emotional state. You’re thinking we should have led with honesty? Absolutely. But now we’ve gone too far.”

While speaking to Us, Novlan weighed in on how Finn would have reacted if Steffy told him the truth about being unfaithful, saying, “He would have blamed it all on himself.”

Saint-Victor, 44, joined in by offering Carter’s perspective on the deception.

“Daphne left him for three hours, but she left when he was attentive to her. He was a good husband to her, in his opinion, when she left. So now that he made this mistake, why would she stay?” he told Us about Carter’s thought process. “She left when he was good. Why would she stay when he messes up?”

He continued: “And that’s the whole thing about Carter, right? You’re this man I never met before. You’re virtuous. You’re loyal. What happens when he makes a mistake? So he doesn’t have any faith.”

Looking ahead, Novlan is excited to see whether the characters will come clean — or commit to the lie.

“Honesty and soap operas usually don’t go hand in hand,” he joked. “So I think we know that that’s not happening. … I really do watch to have this unfold before our eyes. We really do read it like the audience does.”

Saint-Victor offered his thoughts as Carter continues to dig a deeper hole for himself, adding, “We’re on this roller-coaster of watching what this lie destroys in Steffy and Carter. Because to keep this lie going, you have to start becoming something you don’t want to be. Carter, he doesn’t want to be this bully. Steffy doesn’t want to be this liar who can’t get a word out when Carter’s talking. That’s not who they are, but they’re becoming this to keep this lie alive. So I think we’ll see more dismantling.”

The Bold and the Beautiful airs on CBS weekdays at 1:30 p.m. ET and streams on Paramount+.
