Anne Hathaway gave her The Devil Wears Prada character a modern makeover as filming for the sequel got underway.
Hathaway, 42, was spotted on set for the sequel film in New York City on Monday, July 21. The actress rocked a white racerback tank top, black vest, denim maxi skirt and black sandals. Her hair was down, showing off her wavy locks.
She also donned black sunglasses while out in the city on the sunny day. Instead of carrying a handbag, Hathaway held a newspaper in her arm.
After arriving on set, Hathaway was spotted in a second look that appears to be part of the wardrobe for her character. She wore a pinstripe vest and matching trousers. Hathaway’s look was completed with black boots and a Jemma Wynne Forme emerald-cut diamond toggle pendant necklace.
In honor of her first day of work, Hathaway took to social media to give fans a first look at her on set.
“Andy Sachs 2025 #dwp2,” she wrote via Instagram.
Before arriving at the location, Hathaway teased that filming was underway. In a TikTok video uploaded on Monday, the Oscar winner showed off her getting-ready process before heading to work. As Hathaway brushed her teeth, she rocked a cerulean blue sweater.
“Heading to werk #dwp2,” Hathaway captioned the clip.
Hathaway starred in the original The Devil Wears Prada as Andy Sachs, who was hired as an assistant for the legendary fashion editor Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. The 2006 film also featured Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Adrian Grenier.
Nearly two decades after the original movie premiered, it was announced that The Devil Wears Prada would be getting the sequel treatment. In addition to Hathaway reprising her role, Streep, Blunt and Tucci were confirmed for the cast. Grenier will not be in the new movie.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is also going to include new faces. Kenneth Branagh will be playing Miranda’s husband. Variety reported in June that Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Conrad Ricamora, Helen J. Shen, Caleb Hearon and Simone Ashley will make appearances as well. Details about their roles have yet to be announced.
While details of the plot are under wraps, Puck News reported that the sequel will follow Miranda as she continues to helm Runway while navigating a modern media landscape where the internet threatens to overtake print.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters May 1, 2026.
