Bud Light has weighed in on the NFL fining 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk nearly $15,000 — well, sort of.
George Kittle, a close friend and teammate of Juszczyk’s, confirmed the report that the 49ers fullback doesn’t drink beer.
“Can confirm he doesn’t really drink beer but is a good guy,” Kittle said of Juszczyk.
Bud Light chimed in and replied to the post on X.
“Can confirm Kittle DOES drink beer (and is also a good guy),” the NFL’s official beer sponsor wrote.
Juszczyk was fined $14,926 for his longtime chugging celebration of pretending to drink juice, an ode to his nickname. Sunday’s celebration against the Dolphins marked the first time the 35-year-old had been fined for the league because of it.
“Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the NFL wrote in its fine letter.
Juszczyk took to social media to prove the celebration has been utilized for nearly all of his 15 seasons. On Instagram Stories, he referred to a post from 2021 when he was captured doing the same celebration as he did against the Dolphins.
Fans have been quick to call out the NFL for its hypocrisy as the league has an official beer sponsor, Bud Light. There are also several commercials promoting alcoholic beverages that regularly play throughout NFL games.
