Lois Boisson has epic racket-smashing meltdown after US Open loss to Emma Navarro

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 31, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

The highs and lows of the U.S. Open were on full display in the moments following Emma Navarro’s first-round win over Lois Boisson.

While Navarro was celebrating the victory, Boisson could be seen on the court smashing a racket several times on the ground before tossing it away in anger.

She had already launched her racket at the ground in the immediate aftermath of Navarro’s winning point, which came when Boisson hit the ball into the net.

🤯🚨 MAJOR CRASHOUT ALERT 🚨🤯

Boisson shook hands with Navarro and the chair umpire before she continued to take out her rage on the rackets, which were left on the court and the ball girls later retrieved them.

The American seemed to have no idea what was happening behind her as she took the match in three sets a day after it had started.

Navarro and Boisson’s first-round match was delayed from Sunday due to the rain that arrived in the metropolitan area and forced the outdoor action to be paused.

The No. 26 seed had restarted the action on Monday leading 7-6(6), 4-2 before Boisson capitalized on the suspension of play to take the second set.

Navarro ended up winning 7-6(6), 6-7(1), 6-3 to move on to the second round of this year’s tournament in Flushing Meadows.

It’s already been a pretty eventful U.S. Open for Navarro, who gushed in an interview with People that she was able to train with her tennis idol, Serena Williams, in a moment that she described as “surreal.”

“It’s pretty awesome. We were actually on the stationary bike next to each other yesterday,” Navarro told the outlet. “We didn’t really exchange any words, but that was a little bit surreal because growing up she was always the legend, the GOAT of women’s tennis.”

Navarro will face the winner of Catherine McNally and Anouk Koevermans, which is being played later on Monday afternoon.
