Padres’ Fernando Tatis Jr mean mugs Francisco Lindor after insane grand slam robbery

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 18, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

The bases were loaded in the second inning for New York Mets star Francisco Lindor when he stepped in the batter’s box.

Lindor looked like he had completed the task of hitting a grand slam with a fly ball to right field until San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. made a leaping catch at the wall.

Tatis, a player equally known for his talent and flare, stared down the field after he made one of the best home run robberies of his career.

The two-time Platinum Glover’s heroics helped the Padres retain a 1-0 lead over the Mets.

Even before the conclusion of Tuesday’s game at Citi Field, Tatis had put on quite the performance with two home runs and three runs driven in. Tatis was plus-7 after saving four runs with his defense.

On the first pitch of Tuesday’s game, Tatis hit a 452-blast which marked his 18th career leadoff homer. In the fifth inning, he hit a two-run home run.

The 2026 season began with an arduous home run drought for Tatis, who didn’t manage to go deep for 240 plate appearances. But in recent weeks, the Padres star has looked closest to the 2021 version of himself, who had a 42-homer season that year.

While it’s too late for Tatis to hit even 40 home runs, his resurgence has helped the Padres skyrocket in the National League standings. A few months ago, San Diego’s playoff hopes looked infinitesimal.

Now, the Padres currently hold an NL wild-card spot. The sky is the limit for San Diego when Tatis is at his best.
