Lauren Boebert’s son could see jail time after pleading guilty in child abuse case

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 13, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Lauren Boebert’s troubled son Tyler Boebert accepted a plea deal in his child abuse case that could see him spend time behind bars, according to a report.

Tyler Boebert, 21, will plead guilty to child abuse/negligence without injury, according to the offer from the Weld County District Attorney’s Office in Colorado – which suggested the congresswoman’s son spend up to 30 days in jail and serve a year of supervised probation, TMZ reported.

They’ve also requested that Tyler, a young father, enter a parenting program, according to the court documents.

Hei is scheduled to appear before a judge at the Garfield County courthouse Aug. 19, court records show.

Tyler, who became a dad when he was 17, was charged with child abuse earlier this year after his 2-year-old son was found wandering around outside of his mother’s house for a second time.

Months earlier, he was charged with misdemeanor child abuse, which Lauren Boebert attributed to “a miscommunication on monitoring my young grandson that recently led to him getting out of our house.”

Tyler was arrested separately in Colorado Sunday on sexual exploitation of a child and multiple other charges, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said.

The charges reportedly stem from an alleged sex tape he filmed in early 2024, when Tyler would have been 18, with his then-girlfriend, who was 17 at the time. She contacted police after the video was leaked, according to TMZ.

“I love my son,” Rep. Boebert said in a statement after his arrest.

“We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time,” the congresswoman added.

Tyler was released on a $10,000 bond.

Tyler, the eldest of Lauren Boebert and her ex-husband Jayson’s four sons, has had a history of run-ins with the law.

In 2024, he was slapped with 22 criminal charges, including five felonies, following a string of alleged thefts in Colorado.

In October of that year, Tyler pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft and the remaining charges were dismissed. The plea agreement included a two year deferred judgement and he was ordered to complete 80 hours of community service.
