Kristin Cavallari doubles down on surprising Jay Cutler claim in ugly divorce turn

News RoomBy News RoomJuly 8, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

Kristin Cavallari is standing her ground on her finances with ex-husband, former NFL player Jay Cutler.

During a Tuesday appearance on the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast, Cavallari was candid about her business and personal finances — and claimed she didn’t receive any money in the pair’s 2022 divorce.

“I don’t get any money from my ex-husband,” the former reality star said, doubling down on previous comments she made during an episode of her “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour” podcast last June.

“I had to give him half the value of [her business] Uncommon James in cash and properties and everything else. Isn’t that interesting,” Cavallari told Grede.

“I was really pissed at the time and now I’m so thankful because I think, for me, I’ve needed these things in my life to keep going. And I’ve found that that is an instance where I’m going to fight harder. those little moments push me and I come out the other side stronger.”

Cavallari emphasized that she self-funded her business, and that the success of Uncommon James “gave me the confidence to leave my marriage.”

Cutler previously addressed Cavallari’s claims last August, calling the situation “completely false” in an episode of his “Take it Outside” podcas.

“Let’s think about this logically. ‘Not a penny,’ OK. Married for, I don’t know, seven years or so, three kids,” Cutler said at the time. “You can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It’s online. You can see the contract from year to year and the total amount at the end of 12 years. So, you go to divorce and each side gets a lawyer, and then you go to court and there’s a judge.

“In the state of Tennessee, if we would have went to the judge and been like, ‘Hey, he’s going to keep every single dollar over the past seven years and you’re going to get nothing.’

“There’s not a judge in the state of Tennessee that would have signed that. They would be like, ‘No, this isn’t – this isn’t right. This isn’t legal. Not happening.’ So, there’s that. B, she has a lawyer. I have a lawyer. Is her lawyer really going to be like, ‘Fine, you get zero dollars. He gets to keep all the money that was made over the seven years.’ Absolutely not.”

During her podcast appearance, Cavallari also said that she and Cutler no longer have a 50-50 custody agreement with their three kids, sons Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9.

She previously told People she now has primary custody.

“I have chosen to be the best mom that I could be and be a good business owner and that’s the trade-off. I would love to tell you Uncommon James is a $100 million company and it’s not. But I am the best mom and my kids will tell you that also,” Cavallari said.

“The Hills” alum did not elaborate further.

“Just a co-parenting relationship, I’d say that’s pretty much it,” Cavallari said of her and Cutler’s current relationship.

Cavallari and Cutler, who met and got engaged in 2011, were married for nearly seven years.

They announced their split in April 2020, and their divorce was finalized in June 2022.

The “Hills” alum previously dated NHL forward Nate Thompson.
