Exclusive | ESPN hiring Madelyn Burke as ‘SportsCenter’ anchor after decade with Giants

News RoomBy News RoomMarch 23, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Sports host Madelyn Burke is joining ESPN as a “SportsCenter” anchor, The Post has learned.

The multi-platform host — who spent the last decade covering the Giants, most recently with MSG Network and Giants.com — will begin work in April at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT.

The Worldwide Leader is currently determining Burke’s anchoring schedule.

“Particularly, this is kind of a full circle moment because when I was in college I actually interned for ESPN in Bristol over a summer in the production coordination office there,” Burke said in an interview with The Post. “I also worked as a runner and a PA for ESPN’s coverage of Super Bowl 42 in Arizona, which was the Giants-Patriots helmet catch game — and then I worked as a runner and a PA for Super Bowl 43 in Tampa, which was the Santonio Holmes toe drag game.”

Burke previously worked as a production assistant for ESPN on “Monday Night Football” and the NBA Finals.

“Nearly 20 years later, to be here now joining ‘SportsCenter,’ I honestly feel a lot more gratitude than anything else to the people and the experiences and the opportunities that have helped me get here,” Burke said. “It’s also just the full circle moment of remembering being a young PA just cutting her teeth and trying to do whatever it takes to be in and around the industry. And now, I’m about to start my dream job.”

Burke, who also served as a host for CBS Sports HQ, announced the end of her Giants tenure in a social media post on Thursday.

Burke recalled being surprised by the orgazniation’s response to her announcement that she was leaving.

“It’s so tricky. I mean, I’ll say this, walking away from a decade with the Giants, you look back and you realize just how many moments, experiences and memories were created — and friendships and bonds,” Burke said.

“One thing I will say is, everyone within that organization has been so supportive and excited for me in this next chapter and when I made my announcement of leaving the team. The other day I was honestly surprised with the reaction. I want to give my flowers to the organization because of how much this chapter has meant to me and how much I have grown as a broadcaster.

“The amount of people who have reached out and shown support and gratitude for what I did in that coverage has really been heartwarming. It’s just been so endearing to see the reaction and I hope I can continue to make an impact on a larger stage — and of course, continue to show the Big Blue fans some love.”

With the Giants, Burke hosted multiple shows across the team’s digital platforms, as well as the “Giants Postgame Live” show on MSG. Burke also served as a sideline reporter for WFAN Giants broadcasts.

“Madelyn is a versatile and dynamic storyteller who brings credibility, energy and a deep understanding of sports to everything she does,” said Mike Foss, Senior Vice President, Sports & Studio Entertainment. “Her experience across multiple platforms and connection with fans make her a great addition to SportsCenter.”

Burke, who is a native of Los Angeles, previously covered college football and the NBA across multiple platforms, including time on the Clippers beat and a stint with Sports Illustrated.
