Trump says US wants Iran’s ‘nuclear dust’ as part of any peace deal with Tehran

News RoomBy News RoomMarch 23, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

President Trump said he wants Iran to give up its nuclear materials  — down to the “nuclear dust,”  as part of its ongoing peace talks.

“We want the nuclear dust. We’re going to want that,” he told reporters as he left Florida on Monday, referring to the enriched uranium.

“We’ve agreed to that. Yeah, we’re going to. We’ve agreed to that,” he added.

In a surprise move on Monday, Trump said the US will not attack any part of Iran’s power and energy infrastructure for five days after Washington and Tehran engaged in “very good and productive talks” over the weekend about ending the three-week-old war.

The president said talks would continue on Monday by phone, adding the parties would meet very soon.

He noted, as one of the conditions of a ceasefire, Iran must hand over its enriched uranium before the war can end.

“We want no enrichment. But we also want the … enriched uranium, where, if this happens, it’s a great start for Iran to build itself back, and it’s everything that we want,” he said.

Trump has said repeatedly that the goal of the war is to keep Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

“We’re looking for all of the things that we’ve been talking about. We want to see no nuclear bomb, no nuclear weapon, not even close to it, low-key in the missiles. We want to see peace in the Middle East,” he said, describing what he wants to happen in order to stop the strikes.

The president shrugged off reports from Iranian state media, which, citing an unnamed official, said there were no talks between the two nations.

“The communication, as you know, has been blown to pieces. They were unable to talk to each other, but we’ve had very strong talks.”

He said if the talks go well, the war will end. Otherwise, the bombs will continue.

“If it goes well, we’re going to end up settling this. Otherwise, we just keep bombing our little hearts out.”
