I got a vibration plate for lymphatic drainage, but another benefit shocked me

Everyone should have one.

That’s just one of thousands of glowing reviews praising this piece of TikTok-viral fitness equipment.

As a wellness writer who’s tested everything from longevity powders and parasite cleanses to sauna blankets and LED masks, I rarely say no to trying out the latest health trend — especially when I hear people calling a product “crazy addictive.”

That was the case with the Lifepro Waver Vibration Plate Exercise Machine. The $200 vibration plate is designed by an American company and is said to offer a range of health benefits. The full-body vibrations are designed to activate muscle groups, support weight loss, improve circulation and perhaps the most-talked-about benefit on social media: support lymphatic drainage.

I’ve owned it for about six months now and try to use it in the mornings, especially on days when I wake up feeling a little puffy or congested. On that front, I can confirm it actually delivers. I can see and feel swelling go down after using it. It’s good.

But there’s another benefit that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. When my mom, who deals with sciatica, saw my morning vibration plate routine, she got curious and began researching it.

She found out that the vibrations may help ease some of her back pain and help her build muscle strength. And since incorporating it, she’s noticed her muscles relax and her core feels stronger. Put simply, she says, “It feels like I shook 10 years off my body.”

The studies seem to corroborate what she has been feeling. A 2021 study found that whole-body vibration training could improve muscle strength in older adults. The research concluded that it “may be an alternative exercise method to boost the effect of strengthening exercise.”

After digging through more reviews, I actually found several users discussing the way the vibration plate eased their tight muscles. “I have been using this for about two weeks and have reduced my sciatica pain considerably,” one shared.

The catch? Moderation is key, as overuse could further aggravate back pain. Anyone dealing with a medical condition should consult their physician before starting a new routine — vibration plates included.

For an under $100 option, this HVX Vibration Plate is currently flying off shelves. This compact model offers a bright LED screen and comes with a remote, so users can easily switch between manual mode and 5 preset programs. The intensity ranges from 1 to 12 — ideal for stretching or building strength.
