911 calls from Tiger Woods’ rollover DUI crash revealed

News RoomBy News RoomApril 2, 20263 ViewsNo Comments

New 911 dispatch audio from Tiger Woods’ Friday rollover crash revealed a number of local police departments responding to the incident that ultimately landed the golfer in handcuffs.

Page Six obtained the audio from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (Florida), and in one instance, a Jupiter Island police officer requested an “available unit” from the sheriff’s office to help with traffic control.

In another piece of audio, a person is heard telling the operator that they were “calling to report a vehicle accident.”

The rest of the audio shows communication with surrounding police departments discussing the accident and trying to control traffic.

Woods, 50, was arrested by police for DUI, and during a press conference, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek told reporters that the golf star looked impaired by “some type of medication or drug.”

He is now facing charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful urine test, and court records showed on Thursday that Woods was facing an additional charge of careless driving.

Woods had been driving near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida, when he attempted to pass a truck in his Land Rover SUV and was forced to swerve because of oncoming traffic and clipped the truck, causing the accident.

Woods’ SUV ended up on its side.

The incident was Woods’ fourth dating back to 2009 and his second DUI arrest since 2017.

Bodycam footage was released Thursday and showed him admitting to taking “a few pills” earlier in the morning before he had gotten on the road.

The video also showed Woods going through a field sobriety test and the moment he was arrested.

Officers searched his pockets and allegedly found two white pills.

Woods released a statement after he was released from jail on Tuesday, hours after he pleaded not guilty, saying that he understood the “seriousness of the situation I find myself in today.”

“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he said in the statement.
