Trent Williams’ Hall of Fame career won’t be ending anytime soon.
The 49ers offensive lineman said following San Francisco’s 48-27 victory over the Colts on Monday night that he’s “nowhere near done.”
“We got a few more years,” he added.
Williams broached the topic of his football future while he was having a postgame chat with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt.
As the pro-49ers crowd surrounding him at Lucas Oil Stadium directed “one more year” chants his way, the 37-year-old left tackle promised they’d see him again in 2026 and beyond.
“I’m not leaving,” he said. “I ain’t going nowhere.”
Williams entered the league as first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, and he went on to star for Washington for nine seasons. Following a trade to San Francisco in 2020, he elevated his game even further and has consistently been in the conversation for the game’s best left tackle.
In his six-plus seasons in the Bay Area, Williams has started 83 total games and been named to five Pro Bowl teams.
During Monday’s key win, he helped pave the way for an offense that totaled 295 passing yards and 145 rushing yards. Throughout the game, he was praised by “Monday Night Football” announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
