Jordon Hudson was close to quickstepping her way toward the mirrorball trophy, but her busy schedule prevented her from putting on her dancing shoes.
A source exclusively told Us Weekly that Hudson, 24, was “in talks” to compete on the current season of Dancing With the Stars, which kicked off Tuesday, September 16.
However, Hudson “thought doing the show was going to be a conflict of interest with her other projects, so talks fell apart.”
Social media users and other outlets have been looking into reports of Hudson’s involvement since the season 34 cast was revealed September 3 on Good Morning America.
Us Weekly has reached out to Hudson and Dancing With the Stars for comment.
Hudson — a former collegiate cheerleader and competitive beauty queen, who finished second runner-up in the Miss Maine pageant in May — has been busy making headlines as the girlfriend of University of North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick. The couple made their relationship official in October 2024 after months of speculation.
Belichick, 73, formerly guided the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles during his tenure as head coach from 2000 to 2023.
Hudson has hinted about her involvement in University of North Carolina’s upcoming Hulu docuseries, which will follow the inner workings of the football team.
Around the time the project was announced in August, Hudson shared a picture of herself with Belichick at the team’s spring game earlier this year, blowing a kiss for the camera. She tagged Hulu, Disney+ and EverWonder Studio, who will produce the series, which does not yet have a release date.
“It’ll show our commitment to winning,” Belichick said in a social media video posted on August 24. “It’ll show our commitment to the team, and that’s our priority.”
The Hulu series comes on the heels of a deal for the North Carolina football team to be featured on the HBO docuseries Hard Knocks.
The Athletic reported in April that Hudson “played an instrumental role in stopping the production, related to her request to be heavily involved in the project.”
Hudson’s role in Belichick’s life has been the topic of much speculation, which led to the University of North Carolina issuing a statement about her earlier this year.
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” Carolina Athletics said in a statement to Us on May 9. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
In Hudson’s absence, season 34’s cast includes social media personality Alix Earle, comedian Andy Richter, NBA star Baron Davis, actor Corey Feldman, actress Danielle Fishel, TV personality Dylan Efron, actress Elaine Hendrix, entrepreneur Hilaria Baldwin, reality star Jen Affleck, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, singer Lauren Jauregui, TV star Robert Irwin, singer Scott Hoying and reality star Whitney Leavitt.
