It might be a while before fans see more of Taylor Sheridan‘s beloved show Landman.
The hit Paramount series premiered in November 2024 after filming began in Texas early that year. Production on season 2 started in 2025 and ended that August, with the episodes airing in November 2025.
Season 3, however, has been plagued with changes. While filming was originally scheduled for May 2026, it got pushed to three months later. Production was apparently delayed again as James Jordan confirmed exclusively to Us that filming would start in September 2026.
“It’s going to be fantastic. Taylor is writing as we speak. It’s going to be 10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes — just like season 1 and season 2 have been. Billy Bob [Thornton] and everybody, we’re all ready to get back to work,” he shared in July 2026. “I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore. So it’s going to be a great ride.”
Jordan continued: “We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year. Then we should have it out … I don’t know when. It’s up to the powers that be, but we’re very excited to get started on that.”
While no reason was given for the delay, the news about Landman‘s production change came after the last of the show’s stars secured raises in June 2026. According to Deadline, the entire original cast — outside of Thornton — successfully negotiated paycheck increases.
Thornton, who plays Tommy, reportedly has a separate three-year deal with standard year-to-year increases. He would be up for negotiating a new contract if Landman is renewed for a fourth season.
Demi Moore, meanwhile, had a contract that was shorter than the usual two-year options. After a negotiation, the actress landed a new deal that will bring her up to parity with Thornton, earning between $740,000 and $770,000 an episode.
Ali Larter renegotiated her existing long-term contract, with the outlet claiming she reached an agreement after the other OG cast members settled their raises earlier in the year. Larter, who plays Angela, more than doubled her paycheck and will now receive $350,000 an episode — in addition to getting a talent deal.
Jacob Lofland and Michelle Randolph, who play Thornton and Larter’s kids on the show, are going up in the range of $130,000 to $180,000 an episode. The rest of the cast, which includes Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie and Jordan, reportedly got sizable bumps, but less than Lofland and Randolph.
In addition to Landman, Sheridan is involved behind the scenes on Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lioness, Marshals, The Madison, Dutton Ranch and Frisco King in various capacities.
