Cameron Brink said she enjoys the artistry of posing “fully naked” for photo shoots.
During the latest installment of the “Straight 2 Cam” podcast, the L.A. Sparks forward recalled “walking around naked” on the set of her recent shoot with Players magazine, which took her mother and guest of the show, Michelle Bain-Brink, by surprise.
“I’m usually pretty open, I feel like I trust the creatives in the room,” Brink told Michelle and her teammate, Dearica Hamby, referring to different photo shoots. “I was fully naked for that [Players] shoot.”
Michelle, who played basketball for Virginia Tech, made a face with her eyes wide.
“You were?” she asked.
“Yeah, I was walking around naked,” Brink replied. “There was only gays and girls in the room, I think. So, it wasn’t an issue. But, yeah, I feel like when they have a vision, I like the artistry of it all. I like shooting stuff like that. I think it’s fun.”
The 23-year-old Brink then compared shooting “fully naked” to walking around in the Sparks’ locker room in front of teammates and staff.
Michelle particularly loved that her daughter posed with a large match in her mouth, which she said made her do a double-take.
“I loved the outfit, I love how they styled you,” Michelle said. “The whole [Players] shoot was amazing. … It’s art and you want people to do a double-take. You don’t want the same aesthetic that everyone does. So, I think they killed it because they make you look twice.”
Hamby, 31, joked that she usually covers her chest with her hands when she’s walking around the locker room.
Michelle added that she’s happy to see her daughter confident in front of the camera because she herself never got to that point.
“You know what I love is that you are so comfortable in your own skin now,” Michelle said. “… I never really got to that point in my skin as an athlete, I was always just nerdy about it kind of.”
Brink made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut earlier this year.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Brink joked that she called her mom and pranked her, saying the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot would be fully naked.
The WNBA star later appeared in the magazine modeling various bikinis.
Last July, Brink was featured on the cover of Flaunt Magazine for its Gold Standard issue.
Brink quickly became known for her fashion-forward tunnel styles after being selected second overall by the Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft last April.
The Stanford product was expected to be in the mix for Rookie of the Year honors before she suffered a torn ACL last June, ending her first pro season early.
She averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals spanning 15 games.
Brink announced her engagement to Ben Felter last fall, when he surprised her with a proposal in Paris while she was attending fashion week.
