At this point, you just have to concede that UConn is a different beast when it comes to one-and-done games. The Huskies haven’t lost a tournament game since March 10, 2023 and have won two National Championships and a Big East Title in that span. 

This year’s version of UConn was supposed to be a step back compared to the ring-wearing squads, but a dominant performance against Villanova showed that this team may be made from the same stuff. 

If you put aside the aura and mystique, UConn and Creighton are two very evenly-matched units. KenPom has the Blue Jays slightly better in his power rankings, but the difference is negligible. It’s a coin flip.

UConn has improved its defensive numbers of late, but its super power all season has been its ability to get games on its terms. The Huskies want to slow things down and limit possessions, which can be disruptive to teams that want to run up and down the court.

Creighton does not fall into that bucket and should be more than comfortable in an arm wrestle. 

Without that edge, this game really looks like a 50/50 battle, but the mystique of UConn seems to be impacting the line.
