Trump will hit the 2026 campaign trail for Republicans, top aide says: ‘Like it’s 2024 again’

News RoomBy News RoomDecember 8, 20251 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — President Trump is headed back out to the campaign trail — to fight for Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said on Monday.

Speaking on “The Mom View” by conservative organization Moms for America, Wiles said Trump would “work very hard to keep for keep the majority” in both the House and Senate next year.

“I haven’t quite broken it to him yet, but he’s going to campaign like it’s 2024 again,” Wiles said on the YouTube show. “All these people that he helps — he doesn’t help everybody — but for those he does, he’s a difference maker, and he’s certainly a turnout machine.”

Wiles, who helped run Trump’s successful 2024 campaign, said the approach will be a shift from prior administrations’ strategies — using the president’s popularity and pizzazz on the campaign trail to help boost GOP candidates in the same way he did in presidential election years.

“Typically in the midterms, it’s not about who’s sitting at the White House. You localize the election, and you keep the federal officials out of it,” she said. “We’re actually going to turn that on its head, and put him on the ballot, because so many of those low propensity voters are Trump voters.”

She pointed to the Democratic sweep in last month’s off-year elections — including the stunning election of socialist Zohran Mamdani as New York City mayor — as proof that Trump needs to mobilize Republican voters.

“We saw … what happens when he’s not on the ballot and not active,” she said.

The chief of staff also said Trump “started raising money for the midterms the day after the election,” which he will use to help his party retain control of Congress.

“He’s sitting on a huge war chest to help these people. And he’ll use it,” she said. “… Nobody can outwork him, so there’s every reason to be confident.”
