There’s a whole new “Daddy Gang” in town.
President Trump’s allies offered supporters a new, limited-edition T-shirt with his mugshot and the word “DADDY” on Thursday — playing off a lighthearted exchange with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday.
“When Biden was President, we were LAUGHED at on the world stage. The whole world WALKED ALL OVER US!” the Trump National Committee Joint Fundraising Committee (JFC) wrote in its email promoting the shirt.
“But thanks to your favorite President (ME!) we are respected once again,” the committee wrote in Trump’s voice. “Please never forget that I wouldn’t be here without you. THANKS TO YOU, OUR COUNTRY IS RESPECTED AGAIN!”
The T-shirt, offered in orange or navy blue, can be yours for a $35 donation to the JFC, which Trump created in conjunction with the Republican National Committee last year.
Rutte, the former Dutch prime minister, playfully called Trump “Daddy” after the president used an analogy of children fighting on a playground to describe Israel and Iran’s longstanding conflict.
“They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard. You know, they fight like hell, you can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it’s easy to stop them,” Trump said as he and Rutte gave a joint press conference ahead of the NATO summit at The Hague.
“Daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get it stopped,” added Rutte, referencing Trump’s profane, frustrated outburst from Tuesday in which he said Israel and Iran “don’t know what the f–k they’re doing.”
Trump was celebrated during his appearance at the NATO summit, in part for his decisive move against Iran’s nuclear facilities and also for his successful push for alliance members to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP by 2035.
