TORONTO — The legend of Trey Yesavage grows with each unhittable splitter.
At 22, with only two weeks of regular-season baseball on his ultra-thin résumé, Yesavage dominated the Aaron Judge Yankees and Shohei Ohtani Dodgers in October. The Blue Jays right-hander represents the most surprising reason the upstart, underdog Jays are within a game of a World Championship.
Jays veteran starters are nearly as startled as the rest of us.
“Amazing,” says Jeff Hoffman.
