Travis Kelce pushed back against the idea that he and girlfriend Taylor Swift have been craving the public eye during the NFL offseason.
Kelce, 35, appeared on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast on Tuesday, July 1, where he was asked about being spotted with Swift, 35, on their numerous outings in recent months.
“Having fun with it, man,” Kelce told hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. “Being a couple, dude. You already know. It gets thrown out there like we’re trying to seek the attention every now and then.”
Kelce added, “We’re just enjoying life and having fun.”
The couple has spent a large portion of the spring and summer in Florida, where Kelce rented a $20 million mansion in Boca Raton for his offseason training.
While in the Sunshine State, Kelce has enjoyed “introducing her to some more of the sports world.”
Kelce and Swift, also 35, were in attendance for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers at Sunrise, Florida’s Amerant Bank Arena on June 12.
“That was fun, man,” Kelce said. “F***in’ hell of a game.”
When Kelce and the Chiefs kick off the NFL season in September, “Bussin’ With the Boys” cohost Compton, 35, noted it will be the first time since Kelce and Swift started dating that the pop star won’t be on tour during the football season.
“She tried to get to as many [games] as she could last year,” Kelce noted. “She came to a lot.”
But the Chiefs tight end said he looked forward to Swift being an even more common presence at Chiefs’ home games this year.
“We’ll have Tay representing up at Arrowhead [Stadium],” Kelce added with a smile.
Swift accompanied Kelce to the fifth annual Tight End University in Nashville last week, which featured a surprise performance from the singer on June 24.
Compton, who was also in attendance at the festivities, gushed about Swift’s participation at the event.
“No matter what people say about Taylor Swift — people say everything — this girl’s life is followed and thumbed through like a microscope,” Compton said. “The way she handled herself, she was obviously very gracious, very nice to us. Super sweet to us. I go in for a handshake, she goes in for a hug. She’s hugging everybody.”
Compton continued, “But just observing her with the fans and showing up there whenever fans were able to kind of get to her, that moment was the only moment that would exist the way she’s treating everybody. I thought that was f***ing cool.”
