Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have announced an opening date for their new steakhouse.
The Kansas City Chiefs teammates will open 1587 Prime on Wednesday, September 17, in a fitting location: Kansas City, their adopted hometown.
“We both love this city,” Kelce, 35, gushed in a video posted by the restaurant’s Instagram account on Monday, August 18. “What’s better than to break bread with people over good food, good drinks, a cool vibe?”
The tight end was shown sampling rare cuts of steak, juicy cheeseburgers and fresh seafood alongside Mahomes, 29, who added, “Kansas City loves food. This is different and I think the city’s gonna love it.”
Kelce called the menu “mind-blowing.”
As for the decor, a sneak peek of the eatery flaunted a clubby, high-end vibe with warm wood interiors, sleek marble floors and a chic central bar — perfect for a power lunch, a third date or maybe an engagement party.
“Precision in every detail. Power in every bite,” 1587 Prime captioned its post, adding, “Beginning Wednesday, August 20 at 12pm CST, you can reserve your table for opening night and beyond.”
The Super Bowl champs first revealed their culinary collab back in March 2024. The pals teamed up with hospitality group Noble 33 for the soon-to-be hotspot, which is located in the Loews Kansas City hotel. The name combines both of their jersey numbers. During the initial announcement, the owners teased that the restaurant would be the “ultimate experiential dining destination.”
In a past statement, Mahomes said that “Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City.”
Back in May, Kelce shared the very first look at the restaurant’s interior and exterior via Instagram. A photo showed off a collection of footballs, each inscribed with gold lettering that read, “1587 PRIME by Noble 33.” (Noble 33 is a Miami-based hospitality group with a portfolio of ritzy restaurants.)
A video also offered a glimpse inside the enormous construction site, which included a grand staircase linking its two floors and huge front windows. Another clip showed construction workers dressed in hard hats working on the premises.
1587 Prime was originally slated to open earlier this year. In a June episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce nearly mentioned the grand opening date before appearing to catch himself.
“You already know, baby. Opening up … soon,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce, at the time.
