Todd Chrisley Explains Why He Was ‘Very Hesitant’ About Daughter Savannah’s Appearance on ‘The View’

News RoomBy News RoomMarch 4, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Todd Chrisley revealed that he had reservations about his daughter Savannah Chrisley’s TV appearance, but he still tuned in.

“My daughter was so pretty today on The View,” Todd, 56, proudly shared while chatting with wife Julie Chrisley on the Wednesday, March 4, episode of the “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast. “I was very hesitant about her going on there.”

Savannah, 28, assumed the guest hosting role from February 16 to February 20 during Alyssa Farah Griffin’s maternity leave.

While chatting about his daughter’s daytime gig, Todd corrected himself and admitted “hesitant” wasn’t exactly the “right word.” Julie, 53, chimed in to agree, “You didn’t want her to.”

Todd said that he “never had a problem” with Whoopi Goldberg. “Ever, ever, ever,” he emphasized. “She’s always been very kind to us. Always been very supportive and I’ve always liked her.”

As for the other cohosts on The View, Todd said he didn’t personally know Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines or Ana Navarro. “Sara I watched today, and I actually thought she came across as sweet,” he added. “Now, I don’t know folks, if that’s just them trying to lead my daughter, the little lamb, to slaughter. But my little lamb is also very good at slaughtering.”

Julie sweetly remarked how her daughter looked “so good” in yellow, a color she said is associated with “a sign of friendship.”

Julie said Savannah likely chose that hue on purpose, searching the meaning on her phone and finding that it meant “optimism, happiness and energy.”

“She did great today,” Todd said. “I sensed a little something from one … two of them.”

“I think you expect it on that show,” Julie added. “I don’t think you go on that show and think that it’s gonna be a Wednesday night prayer group.”

Todd said it “shouldn’t be a bitch bash either,” noting that Goldberg, 70, and Haines, 48, were both very “respectful,” while calling Behar, 83, “dismissive because it’s not what she wants to hear.”

“Sunny, she gave a little side-eye, but she’s been respectful thus far,” he added.

“I’m just not going to get down in the gutter and talk about these women, because then I’m doing the same thing that everybody else is complaining about them doing,” Todd continued.

Julie felt that it was ultimately a “great experience” for Savannah, explaining that she is able to “grow” by being in an environment with different views rather than an echo chamber.

Todd said they agreed to disagree on that, considering “it’s also hard to learn when you’re in a room of people who refuse to hear your version of it, or your perception of something.”

Savannah, for her part, spoke about her experience on “The View: Behind the Table” podcast, revealing she thought “Whoopi and Joy were gonna be a pain in my ass.”

However, she and Behar “had a blast off camera,” even though Savannah defended President Donald Trump on the February 19 episode. Savannah added, “I’m the only one at the table who believes differently … I thought there was gonna be some contention.”
