Mike Trout now has the perfect place to clear his mind after another disappointing Los Angeles Angels season.
Trout National – The Reserve is a private golf course in Vineland, New Jersey (a few minutes away from where Trout was born and raised) that the Angels superstar outfielder and developer John Ruga created.
The par-73 course was designed by TGR Design, which is the legendary Tiger Woods’ golf course architecture firm.
Tiger celebrated the course’s completion with an Instagram post on Tuesday that showed a flyover video of it with the caption, “From vision to reality. It has been incredibly rewarding to work alongside @miketrout , John and the Trout National team, together with my @tgr.design team, to bring our shared vision for this special place to life. Proud of what our teams have accomplished together and excited for everyone who gets to experience it.”
The post’s top comment is from Trout, who revealed his reaction by writing, “What a ride. Couldn’t have asked for a better partner to bring this to life @tigerwoods 👊🏻”.
It’s easy to see why Trout is over the moon about his gorgeous golf course. Unfortunately for fans, they’ll have essentially a 0% chance to see it in person, as Trout National is an exclusive club that will only allow 227 members (which is a nod to Trout’s No. 27 jersey).
One would imagine that Woods will have access to the court he built, and some of Trout’s close baseball buddies will probably also become members.
Perhaps Trout will allow Angels owner Arte Moreno to play the course, as a way of thanking him for what he’s done for his career. Perhaps not.
