Dakota Johnson got some support from her “literal therapist” Taylor Swift as she dished the dirt about her famous exes on Saturday Night Live.

“What else has happened since last time I hosted [in January 2024]? I went through two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians,” Johnson, 37, teased during the Saturday, October 3, episode. “Looking for a third!”

The Verity actress wasted little time in referencing her recent splits from Chris Martin and Role Model, joking that some of the musicians she dated “don’t wear shoes” and “are terrible in bed.”

“But all of them [musicians] are in my DMs,” she quipped to huge applause. “It’s not my fault though. Some people leave concerts with merch and I leave concerts with a two-and-a-half year relationship.”

Johnson continued, “I have really good friends. They don’t judge me, they’re really supportive.”

Swift, 36, then showed up to concur that Johnson does have very “supportive” friends though the singer-songwriter drew a line when the SNL host referred to her as her “literal therapist.”

“I’m not your therapist, actually,” Swift clarified. “You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some. And then you flop on my couch and overshare and every so often, I just say, ‘Damn, that’s crazy!’”

The “Cleveland” singer added that most of Johnson’s visits end with her drinking some Pedialyte before Swift’s security team “drives [her] home.”

Johnson interjected, “While we’re on the subject of musicians, I think actually I’m doing a public service by dating them because, ladies, I’m saving you a lot of money on Zoloft. You’re welcome, America! And also England. And parts of Ireland. And Cleveland, allegedly!”

At the mention of Cleveland, Swift jumped in with a “woo-woo” cheer for husband Travis Kelce‘s hometown.

Saturday’s SNL episode was particularly special for Johnson because she celebrated her birthday at the stroke of midnight on Sunday, October 4. Swift returned to the stage during the “goodnights” segment to present Johnson with a birthday cake.

Meanwhile, Johnson and Swift have been hanging out a lot lately. Johnson was in attendance at Swift and Kelce’s July wedding at Madison Square Garden and then presented her friend with the first-ever Artist Director Honors at the MTV VMAs 2026.

Johnson also starred opposite Colin Farrell in Swift’s most recent directorial effort, her “Patient Zero” music video, which premiered last Sunday, September 27, at the VMAs.

Us exclusively reported in September that Johnson and rumored beau MGK even spent some quality time at Swift’s New York City apartment on their first official date.

“They hit it off and wanted some privacy,” a source told Us. “So, Dakota contacted Taylor, and Taylor said she wasn’t home, so they could use her place. … Apparently, Taylor lets her close friends use her place when she’s away.”

Saturday Night Live continues on NBC Saturday, October 10, at 11:30 p.m. ET with host Shane Gillis and musical guest Rosalia.
