St. John’s targets intriguing transfer portal options as it lays foundation for next run

The start of the transfer portal has seen Rick Pitino and St. John’s begin to lay the groundwork for filling holes on next year’s team. 

No Johnnies have entered the portal yet, although Pitino hasn’t held exit meetings, it should be noted.

The coaching staff has reached out to several intriguing options in the meantime. 

At the top of the list is Providence forward Bryce Hopkins, a former All-Big East player who only appeared in three games this past season following major knee surgery.
